For yoga, pilates and stretch classes in hired halls
A yoga, pilates or stretch class in a hired hall usually has one teacher, a 10-class pass, a concession rate, a morning slot and no bookings. ClassMetrix runs that door from a phone: a list of names, one tap for how each person paid, a QR code for new students to sign the waiver on their own phone, and a money page that shows what each class makes after the hall, so you know which slot to keep when the hall's rent goes up.
What a hall-hire yoga class needs
- One teacher, often the owner. Put a figure in for your own time, even if you don't pay yourself yet, or every class looks profitable.
- Small numbers. Eight to fifteen people, so the break-even is close to the room. Two people either way decide the month. The calculator shows it.
- 10-class passes and a concession rate. Passes don't expire in ClassMetrix, and a concession is a stated rate at the door, not a conversation.
- Several halls. A church hall Tuesday, a community centre Thursday, a scout hall Saturday morning. Each with its own hire and its own tin.
- A waiver. Signed once, on the student's own phone, with the version and date recorded. No paper folder.
- No bookings. People come when they can. The roll is who turned up.
What you see
| Screen | For a yoga teacher |
|---|---|
| Tonight (or this morning) | Your classes at each venue. Tap a name, tap cash, card, pass or free trial. |
| Sign-up | A QR code on the mat at the front. The form takes name, mobile, emergency contact, the waiver and the code of conduct. |
| Money | Each class's takings, hall hire, your pay, profit per class and break-even, month by month. |
| Drifting away | Regulars not seen for a few weeks, so you can send a note. |
| Your records | The student list and every check-in as a spreadsheet file, whenever you like. |
Teacher pay, cash tins and events can be switched off if they don't apply, and they disappear from the app.

Questions
What is the simplest way to track attendance for a yoga class in a church hall?
A phone, one list of names, and one tap for how each person paid. No app for students, no bookings. New people scan a QR code to sign up and sign the waiver on their own phone. At the end of the month you see what each class took, what the hall cost, and what was left.
Do I need booking software for a drop-in yoga class?
Not if people just turn up. Booking software is built for limited places, prepaid courses and memberships, and it charges for that. A drop-in class needs a roll, passes, a waiver, and the profit per class after the hall. That is a smaller, cheaper tool.
How many people does a yoga class need to break even?
Hall hire plus your own pay for the session, divided by what people actually pay on average after passes. A $60 hall and a $60 teacher at an average $17 a head needs 8 people. Put a figure in for your own time, or the number flatters you.
