About ClassMetrix

ClassMetrix, check-in and money tracking for drop-in dance and fitness classes · updated 8 October 2026

The short answer

ClassMetrix is web software for drop-in dance, fitness and yoga classes: the door checks people in on a phone, records how each person paid, and the owner sees what every class earns after hall hire and teacher pay. It is made by 123teq LLC, was built with a real Sydney swing-dance school, and went live on 25 September 2026. It is not the Ruby gem class-metrix and not ClassMatrix, the school management system.

What it is

ClassMetrix does one job: it runs the door of a drop-in class and keeps the money straight. Someone on the door taps a name, then taps how that person paid (cash, card, a punch-card pass, or an IOU). That second tap is the check-in and the payment record. Afterwards the owner sees who came, what the class took, what it cost in hall hire and teacher pay, and which regulars have stopped coming.

It records payments. It never takes them. Studios keep their own card terminal and cash tin. There are no bookings, no class limits, no waitlists and no memberships that bill automatically. If your classes depend on those, booking software will suit you better; see how ClassMetrix compares.

Who makes it

ClassMetrix is made by 123teq LLC. The people who make it also run a swing-dance school in Sydney, Australia, and ClassMetrix was built at that school's door first: shared passes, forgotten cards, a cash tin, teachers paid per class, and several hired halls across the city. The first version replaced the school's own home-made system, with its full history moved across and every month's revenue, pass balances and unpaid teacher pay checked against the old system to the cent.

Because the people who make it also run a class business, the product is deliberately small. A pricing rule like "second class this week is half price" is a setting, not a software release. Parts you don't use (passes, teacher pay, cash tins) switch off and disappear.
