ClassMetrix vs Punchpass

From ClassMetrix, check-in and money tracking for drop-in dance and fitness classes · 8 October 2026

The short answer

Punchpass is booking-and-payments software: students buy passes online, reserve a place, and Punchpass takes the card payment through Stripe, with check-in at class and revenue reports by class. Its plans are US$59, $99 and $149 a month. ClassMetrix has no bookings and takes no payments: the door records who came and how they paid (cash, card, pass or IOU), and the owner sees profit per class after hall hire and teacher pay, plus teacher pay owed and cash tin counts. Plans are AU$29, $69 and $129 a month (US$19, $49, $89). If your students book ahead and pay online, Punchpass. If they turn up and pay at the door and you want the hall and the teachers taken off each night's takings, ClassMetrix.

Questions

Is ClassMetrix a Punchpass alternative?

Only for classes that don't take bookings. Punchpass is built around online reservations and payments; ClassMetrix has neither. If your door is "turn up and pay", ClassMetrix does that job for less and adds profit per class, teacher pay and cash tins. If you need bookings, it isn't an alternative at all.

Which is cheaper, Punchpass or ClassMetrix?

ClassMetrix, at US$19 to $89 a month against Punchpass's US$59 to $149, and with no card fees because it takes no payments. But Punchpass does more: bookings, online sales, memberships, video. Cheaper only matters if you don't need those.

Does Punchpass track profit per class?

Punchpass shows revenue per class, including a share of pass and membership income, and which classes and instructors perform best. ClassMetrix goes a step further and subtracts each night's hall hire and teacher pay, so you see the profit and the break-even head count. We found nothing on Punchpass's site about subtracting those costs; if it matters to you, ask them directly.
