ClassMetrix vs Gymdesk

From ClassMetrix, check-in and money tracking for drop-in dance and fitness classes · 8 October 2026

The short answer

Gymdesk is management software for gyms and martial-arts schools: memberships, billing, booking, a member website and door access, priced by active members from US$75 a month (US$100 without Gymdesk Payments) and by location. ClassMetrix is for drop-in classes where nobody is a "member": priced by classes on your weekly timetable (AU$29 to $129, US$19 to $89), with no bookings, no billing, and venues never counted. If you run a gym with members who pay monthly, Gymdesk. If you run classes in hired halls where people pay at the door, ClassMetrix.

Questions

Why is Gymdesk priced by members and ClassMetrix by classes?

Gymdesk's customers have members who pay monthly, so members are the measure. ClassMetrix's customers have people who turn up when they like, so counting them would punish a busy month. The weekly timetable is the one thing a drop-in studio controls.

Does Gymdesk charge per location?

Its pricing page says the first location is included and each extra one is US$50 a month with Gymdesk Payments or US$100 with your own processor. ClassMetrix never counts venues.

Is ClassMetrix a Gymdesk alternative?

For a class business without memberships, yes. For a gym with members, no: ClassMetrix has no memberships and no billing.
